Mean-Machine Blog

Hi, my name is Bronco and this is my Blog

I’m a process engineer by trade, which means I spend my days optimizing systems and finding elegant solutions to complex problems. But honestly, that mindset doesn’t stop when I clock out – it bleeds into pretty much every aspect of my life, especially when it comes to software.

I’ve been a dedicated Linux user for around 15 years now, and I can confidently say I’m a convert for life. Arch Linux is my daily driver (I use Arch btw), and the thought of going back to a more…restrictive operating system is frankly terrifying. It’s not just about using the software; it’s about understanding it, shaping it, and making it truly mine.

That’s where the tinkering comes in. I’m endlessly fascinated by open-source software, not just for its freedom and flexibility, but for the community that builds and supports it. I love diving into configuration files, tweaking settings, and generally bending software to my will until it perfectly fits my workflow. And lately, I’ve been channeling that energy into programming – specifically, with the wonderfully challenging and rewarding language, Rust.

This blog is a space for me to share my explorations, experiments, and occasional triumphs (and failures!) in the world of Linux, open-source, and all things nerdy. Expect a lot of deep dives, configuration tips, and maybe a little bit of rambling about why I think a perfectly customized terminal is a thing of beauty.
